PBI HONDURAS: CONSULTANCY FOR COORDINATING THE TRAINING/SELECTION PROCESS FOR VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for people interested in a consultancy position coordinating the training/selection process for PBI Honduras volunteers. Below you will find a description of the work to be done, the required profile, and the conditions of the consultancy.

Consultant profile

The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out the activities described in the terms of reference below in coordination with the project office (based in Europe and Honduras), the Training Team (based in Europe and the Americas), and the Project Coordinating Committee (in Europe and the Americas). The selected candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience in designing and implementing training and capacity-building processes for teams.
  • Experience in creating teaching materials and methodologies tailored to the specific needs of an organization and a given moment.
  • Management of group dynamics and facilitation of workshops.
  • Working with teams in high-pressure or crisis contexts.
  • Commitment to PBI’s values and principles.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize logistics.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience and skills in handling administrative processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish.
  • Experience in using computer programs and communication technologies for remote work (Office, email, Jitsi/Zoom, etc.), and experience or ability to learn how to maintain secure communications (PGP, Signal).
  • Ability to work without constant supervision, proactivity, and autonomy at work.
  • Ability to work in a team and by consensus.
  • Commitment and ability to prioritize tasks.

Training in the areas described, as well as practical experience in the human rights sector, will be valued. Experience and/or knowledge of the reality of Honduras is essential, as is familiarity with the work of PBI or international accompaniment organizations.

Period and conditions

Compensation: 3000 euros

Location: Place of residence of the selected person

Duration of the position: Until March 31, 2026

Estimated hours: 8-10 hours per week (flexible, taking into account that the workload varies depending on the stages of the selection process)

Payment will be made in three installments: 

  • Submission of the Work Plan: €500
  • Completion of the First Phase Interview (end of December): €1,000
  • Submission of the final consulting report and results of the training and selection process: €1,500

These fees include all expenses that may arise from the preparation of the report and will be paid after receiving the relevant invoices from the consultant.

A consulting contract will be signed with PBI Honduras, which will include the Terms of Reference.

PBI will cover the costs of participation in the training meeting (transportation, insurance, accommodation, materials).

PBI will not cover other expenses such as social security or taxes during the period covered by this contract. The recipient of these fees is hereby informed that they may have to pay taxes on this income in the country where they file their taxes.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate the volunteer training and selection process scheduled for March 2026 (dates to be confirmed).

  • Keeping information on the training-selection process up to date (website in coordination with the Communications and Advocacy Officer, job and volunteer websites, country groups, interested individuals in general).
  • Coordinating with the Training Team (TT) the training-selection process for candidates.
  • Coordinating and organizing the self-training process for candidates prior to the training-selection meeting.
  • Prepare the logistics and content of the training-selection meeting in coordination with all parties involved, whether in person or virtually.
  • Participate in and facilitate, together with the other members of the TE, the training-selection meeting.
  • Develop the plan for the arrival and departure of volunteers.
  • Act as a liaison between the TE and the rest of the Project bodies: committee, team, and office.

Selection of volunteers

  • In coordination with the office and the country group (if applicable) of the country where the training meeting is held, manage the necessary procedures to implement the policy of supporting candidates with financial difficulties or who need to apply for a visa to participate in the training meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between future volunteers in the field and the Project. Answer their questions and other issues that may arise during the period before joining the team (regarding health insurance, terms of the service agreement, purchasing airline tickets, vaccinations, etc.). Prepare the documentation for temporary residence visa applications for all volunteers on the team.

Internal communication

  • Stay up to date with the Project’s work by reading and exchanging communication through weekly emails (corsems) from the Project, the team, and the committee.
  • Maintain fluid communication with the Project office.
