In September of 2008, the Colombian public was surprised to learn of large numbers of disappearances and subsequent murders of young people from Bogota’s popular districts at the hands of members of the Colombian army. This scandal became known by the name of “false positives” or “extrajudicial executions".

This case brought to light the existence of an organization within the army that kidnapped innocent civilians, transported them to other places within Colombia, executed them, then presented them as guerillas or paramilitary soldiers killed in combat. Among other things, they were intended to show advances made in the fight against the armed and illegal groups, advancements under the guise of the policy of democratic security.
Behind these deaths are an old legacy of disappearances, tortures, and murders of civilians in different areas of Colombia. With this documentary, we plan to:
1. Discuss the causes of these murders
2. Analyze their impact on Colombian society
3. Show how different authorities, institutions and the media have portrayed the murders
